Jill Thompson

Certified Yoga Teacher, Wall Yoga Teacher

Jill is a Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher at the 200-hour level (DEC 2014). She has been practicing yoga since 1999. When Jill began practicing yoga, it was primarily a way to gain some personal time, balance and perspective as a new mom. Over the course of the last 18 years, yoga has grown to be a central influence in Jill’s life. Her yoga training at Studio Gaia in 2014 was when she felt her yoga practice begin to bloom and grow in unexpected ways. Yoga has positively impacted her life – mind, body, and spirit.

As an avid runner, Jill has completed seven marathons and many half marathons over the past 12 years. She credits her yoga and Pilates practice for keeping her injury free while completing the training required to complete these long runs. She is very excited to share her passion for yoga and the benefits it provides to others. She has a deep appreciation for yoga props and pose variations to help each student find the right pose for their individual body.

Jill enjoys teaching Vinyasa Flow classes, Yoga Workshops utilizing Studio Gaia’s Yoga Wall, Hatha classes, and private lessons.

Jill lives in Edwardsville with her husband and her three lovely daughters. She loves spending time with family and friends, yoga, Pilates, running, cooking, reading and an occasional glass of wine.
