200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training 2016
The 200-hr yoga teacher training at Studio Gaia offers students a chance to strengthen their own personal yoga practices, gain insight into the deeper aspects of the practice, and provides the skills to safely and effectively teach yoga.
Students will study a variety of subjects including postural alignment, teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, yoga ethics, Ayurveda and nutrition, and the environmental impacts of food and lifestyle choices.
There will be emphasis on the following topics:
Rolling Therapeutics: Students will learn how to use foam rollers & therapy balls to heal chronic pain, to balance strength and flexibility in the muscles, and to integrate the techniques with a yoga practice.
Chakra System: Yoga postures, pranayama, meditation techniques, & lifestyle choices will be focused on for creating balance in the different energy centers of the body.
Sequencing: Students will learn how to balance sequences around specific muscles, philosophical themes, and rhythms of natures including daily, seasonal, and moon cycles.
The program will be certified under Yoga Alliance, and students will be able to register with the organization upon program completion.

This training is life changing! I am actually more proud of this certificate than I am of my college degree! The teachers are fantastic, supportive, loving and awesome! No matter your reason for attending it will be fulfilled and then some! You won’t regret the time or money spent and will be so happy you choose to become a certified yoga teacher, even if you don’t use it for teaching yoga!
I am so grateful to Studio Gaia for offering the opportunity for the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. As someone who was only seeking to add to my personal practice, I can say that the training far exceeded any expectations that I had. Our instructors were so knowledgeable, the space was so welcoming, and I know that I’ve made lifelong friendships with the other students. Our required reading was varied and so fascinating! Throughout the training, while breaking down poses that I have done for many years, I felt more strong and peaceful in my body than I have ever been. As a result of this program, I have felt a fundamental shift in how I am seeing and approaching each day. I cannot fully express my gratitude to our instructors for sharing their wisdom and the gift of their time. I graduated from this program feeling a profound satisfaction – with life and with myself.
The materials were worth reading & insightful. The teachers were fantastic! I thought the set-up (one weekend a month) was great too. I can’t imagine trying to cram so much information into 6 weeks. (I’ve heard of it.) Your studio is so inviting as well. It was a great blessing to be a part of this group. (The end of my rave reviews. Thumbs up, 5 stars, high-fives, & fist bumps all around.)
